The Green Guide is a project of Health Care Without Harm and the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems. Content is developed by volunteer committees comprised of a diverse group of professionals representing design, engineering, healthcare systems and environmental expertise, and overseen by three Co-coordinators and the Green Guide Senior Director.
Green Guide documents are “best practice” guides, and do not constitute codes or industry standards. Therefore, Green Guide documents are informed by pilot programs and ongoing feedback, while not fully compliant with the ANSI established definition of a consensus process. Because the Green Guide intends to remain a best practices tool, and not a code or standard, the development of future Green Guide tools will continue to be performed by a series of ad hoc committees created from a network of volunteers tasked with completing the work at hand.
